About Doc's Gun and Knife Engraving
Our story
Established in 1995, shortly after his honorable discharge from the US Army -- Doc acquired his FFL (Federal Firearms License), initially as a side-gig to be able to buy and sell guns. In that same year, Doc and his wife attended their very first Fine Hand Engraving class at GRS, with Glendo Corp. at Emporia Kansas, under the tutelage of internationally renowned Master Engraver, Scott Pilkington.
Since then Doc has taken a number of additional courses from GRS with a variety of nationally renowned Master Engravers: notably Sam Alfano and Rex Pederson.
Doc is also a Blacksmith, and is certified in both Stick and MIG welding.
Doc and his wife of 37 years enjoy their homes in Tulsa, OK and Santa Fe, NM -- with engraving and welding shops at both sites.
Doc has been desribed as electic, as a "renaissance man", as a biker, a great doc, and many other things - not nearly as flattering. BUT, he does love his shop, his engraving time, all-things metal-smith. But more than anything, he loves his WIFE (of 37+ years) and FAMILY!
Our mission
Quality work
This is OLD-SCHOOL real-deal fine hand-engraving. It is NOT work done with a dremel, This work will last for generations to come... and will absolutely survive tough field conditions.
No real limits
If its metal - it's likely engraveable. If I can draw it - I can engrave it. Guns, Knives, Silver Spoons, Motorcycle Parts, Brass or Silver Lighters, let's talk!
Training
The world of fine hand-engravers is a pretty small-exclusive club worldwide. I am a long-standing member of FEGA - Firearms Engravers of America and I have attended many training sessions at GRS/Glendo where they host classes by some of the best hand-engravers in the world.
Our principles
No Surprises. To date - I have never charged for the design time. I work closely with clients to ensure that I can deliver something that makes them happy - but keeps them within the budget that they have.
Our values
Let Freedom Ring!! I am a US Army Veteran - and LOVE this GREAT COUNTRY. If you're not a flag loving American: I don't need your business.
